This CARFAX Vehicle History Report is based only on information supplied to CARFAX and available as of 9/23/21 at 4:03:42 AM (CDT). Other information about this vehicle, including problems, may not have been reported to CARFAX. Use this report as one important tool, along with a vehicle inspection and test drive, to make a better decision about your next used car.
Manufacturer Recall
Automobile manufacturers issue recall notices to inform owners of car defects that have come to the manufacturer's attention. Recalls also suggest improvements that can be made to improve the safety of a particular vehicle. Most manufacturer recalls can be repaired at no cost to you.
Manufacturer Buyback or Lemon Title
A DMV or a state agency marks an official document or issues a Manufacturer Buyback/Lemon title when a vehicle has been repurchased by the manufacturer. Not all states issue manufacturer buyback titles and the specific requirements for a lemon law vehicle varies by state.
Accident / Damage Indicator
Various events could indicate an accident or damage in a vehicle's history, such as: salvage auction, fire damage, police-reported accident, crash test vehicle, damage disclosure, collision repair facility and automotive recycler records. See the glossary for more information.
Structural Damage
All levels of accidents, from minor to severe, can cause structural damage to a vehicle (i.e., damage to the frame or unibody).
Basic Warranty
Most manufacturers offer a basic warranty for new vehicles. These warranties vary by manufacturer and typically last for a certain amount of time and/or a set number of miles.
Not Actual Mileage Title
When the seller certifies, under the Federal Odometer Act, that the odometer reading does not reflect the vehicle's actual mileage. This may occur because the odometer was tampered with, broken, or replaced.

A Rebuilt/Reconstructed vehicle is a salvage vehicle that has been repaired and restored to operation. These vehicles are often severely damaged before they are rebuilt and refurbished parts are typically used during reconstruction. In most states, an inspection of the vehicle is required before the vehicle is allowed to return to the road.
Hail Damage Title
The vehicle sustained major damage due to hail. In most states, hail damage titles are issued when the cost of repairing the vehicle for safe operation exceeds its fair market value.

Exceeds Mechanical Limits Title
A vehicle with a 5-digit odometer cannot accurately track mileage after 99,999 miles because the odometer rolls over. This title is the result of a seller certifying under the Federal Odometer Act, that the odometer reading EXCEEDS MECHANICAL LIMITS of the odometer.
Rebuilt/Reconstructed Title
A Rebuilt/Reconstructed vehicle is a salvage vehicle that has been repaired and restored to operation. These vehicles are often severely damaged before they are rebuilt and refurbished parts are typically used during reconstruction. In most states, an inspection of the vehicle is required before the vehicle is allowed to return to the road.

A Junk Title is issued on a vehicle damaged to the extent that the cost of repairing the vehicle exceeds approximately 75% of its pre-damage value. This damage threshold may vary by state. The majority of states use this title to indicate that a vehicle is not road worthy and cannot be titled again. Some states treat Junk titles the same as Salvage.
Salvage Title
A Salvage Title is issued on a vehicle damaged to the extent that the cost of repairing the vehicle exceeds approximately 75% of its pre-damage value. This damage threshold may vary by state. Some states treat Junk titles the same as Salvage but the majority use this title to indicate that a vehicle is not road worthy and cannot be titled again in that state. Description: American Honda Motor Co., inc. (Honda) is recalling certain model year 2014 - 2016 Odyssey vehicles. The second row outboard seats have levers for the walk-in feature which folds the seatback and slides the seat forward for access to the third row seat. Due to a manufacturing error, if the walk-in lever is used to fold a fully reclined left (drivers side) outboard seatback forward, the seatback recliner mechanism may malfunction, allowing the seatback to stay in the unlocked position or unexpectedly unlock without using the walk-in or recliner lever. This recall is separate from NHTSA Recall 17V-725, which also involves the functioning of the second row left (drivers side) outboard seat, and involves different seat components and functions. The repair for 17V-725 (installation of a bracket on the rear outboard strikers) will not resolve this recall; both recall repairs need to be conducted on your vehicle.

An unlocked second row left outboard seatback increases the risk of injury to the seats occupant during a crash.

Remedy: Please call any authorized Honda dealer and make an appointment to have your vehicle repaired. Your dealer will check for proper operation of the second row left outboard seatback recliner. If operating properly, a support bracket will be added to the seatback recliner to ensure locking/unlocking functionality. If the seatback cannot lock, the seatback frame assembly will be replaced. Support bracket installation or seatback frame replacement, if necessary, will be completed for free. For additional questions or to get help locating a dealer, owners may contact American Hondas Customer Support & Campaign Center at 1-888-234-2138. Hondas number for this recall is X0R.

add_circle_outline Learn more about this recall

Description: American Honda Motor Co., inc. (Honda) is recalling certain model year 2011 - 2017 Odyssey vehicles. The second row outer (outboard) seats can be placed in two positions, standard and wide. When installing or repositioning the seat into either position, it is possible that the rear latch may not attach properly to the correct position on the seat striker.

An unlatched second row outer seat could tip forward during moderate to heavy braking increasing the risk of injury to an occupant, including a child seated in a LATCH child seat.

Remedy: Honda will notify owners in an interim notification that the parts necessary to repair their vehicles are currently not available. Included in the interim notification will be detailed instructions for installing/positioning second row outer seats and confirming that they are securely latched. These instructions can also be viewed on www.recalls.honda.com. Honda will send a second notification to owners when parts become available to repair their vehicles and dealers will install a bracket to the second row forward outboard floor strikers to prevent improper seat positioning, apply a warning label to the second row outboard seats and provide an updated owners information card for free. For additional questions or to get help locating a dealer, owners may contact American Honda's Customer Support & Campaign Center at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is P0Q.

Accident Indicator
CARFAX receives information about accidents in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Canada.

Not every accident is reported to CARFAX. As details about the accident become available, those additional details are added to the CARFAX Vehicle History Report. CARFAX recommends that you have this vehicle inspected by a qualified mechanic.
  • According to the National Safety Council, Injury Facts, 2015 edition, 8% of the 254 million registered vehicles in the U.S. were involved in an accident in 2013. Over 74% of these were considered minor or moderate.
  • This CARFAX Vehicle History Report is based only on information supplied to CARFAX and available as of 9/23/21 at 4:03:42 AM (CDT). Other information about this vehicle, including problems, may not have been reported to CARFAX. Use this report as one important tool, along with a vehicle inspection and test drive, to make a better decision about your next used car.
Commercial
Vehicle was registered for business purposes.
Damage Severity
Damage events result in one of the following severity levels:
  • Minor: Generally, minor damage is cosmetic (including dents or scratches), may only require reconditioning, and typically does not compromise a vehicle's operation and/or safety.
  • Moderate: Moderate damage may affect multiple components of the vehicle and may impair the vehicle's operation and/or safety.
  • Severe: Severe damage usually affects multiple components of the vehicle and is likely to compromise the vehicle's operation and/or safety.
CARFAX recommends getting a pre-purchase inspection at a certified collision repair facility.
First Owner
When the first owner(s) obtains a title from a Department of Motor Vehicles as proof of ownership.
New Owner Reported
When a vehicle is sold to a new owner, the Title must be transferred to the new owner(s) at a Department of Motor Vehicles.
Ownership History
CARFAX defines an owner as an individual or business that possesses and uses a vehicle. Not all title transactions represent changes in ownership. To provide estimated number of owners, CARFAX proprietary technology analyzes all the events in a vehicle history. Estimated ownership is available for vehicles manufactured after 1991 and titled solely in the US including Puerto Rico. Dealers sometimes opt to take ownership of a vehicle and are required to in the following states: Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and South Dakota. Please consider this as you review a vehicle's estimated ownership history.
Title Issued
A state issues a title to provide a vehicle owner with proof of ownership. Each title has a unique number. Each title or registration record on a CARFAX report does not necessarily indicate a change in ownership. In Canada, a registration and bill of sale are used as proof of ownership.
